SANDS United Football Club (SUFC) – Worcester

Here at SANDS United Worcester we want to create a unite environment for Dads in the Worcestershire (or wider) area to come to have a safe space. We area always happy to have a kick about and a chat. We are are the RGS – The Grange pitches most Thursdays from 8pm for 1 hour so please do come along if you want any help, support, or just an hour away from your troubles. While everyone’s experience is different we have all been through the same thing, the loss of a child.

You don’t have to be a Dad to come along, if you are a grandparent, uncle or any other relation we will accept you with open arms. We know the loss of a child effects many men in different ways and we will try to help anyone who comes along.

We aim to help all men navigate through what is the most difficult times of their lives, and if we can have a little fun along the way then lets play ball. Here at SUFC Worcester we are trying to build a safe, friendly community of men who have been through one of the most difficult things any person can ever experience, the loss of a child. Everyone is welcome, no matter what stage of grieving you are at. We are here for a kick about, a chat and help each other through one of the most difficult experiences you can ever imagine.

What better way to introduce the club than quote the SANDS themselves:

” Sands United is a unique way for bereaved men to come together through a shared love of sport, find a support network, and feel at ease talking about their grief when they’re ready.

We know that it can be a struggle to talk about how you’re feeling after the death of a baby. We hope that by building trust and a common bond, by playing together as a team, many more will be able to break the silence about baby loss and help others to do the same.  “
